Today, they got to add "Dentist", specifically Smile Island. There, they discussed "good snacks" v. "bad snacks", proper dental hygiene and even touch a few dental tools. But, the topper, was when the real life Tooth Fairy made her appearance.
Now, I wish I would have been able to capture Kennedy's, and all the other girls', expressions when they first laid eyes on the beautiful fairy. I'd say it was a mixture of wonder, awe and a little "could it be?".
Which manifested itself in the timidity with which the girls asked their questions... Where does she live? Is her castle really made up of cavity-free teeth? Can she actually fly? Even Kennedy was able to inquire about her age (which was old enough for their moms to recognize her... you know, that not confined by time thing ;).
But as we were driving home, Kennedy let me in on a secret when she divulged, "That wasn't the real Tooth Fairy, Mom".
Me: Really? Why would you say that?
Kennedy: Because if she was as old as she said she was, her face would have looked way older... plus her wings looked fake.
Me: Is that why you asked her how old she was?
K: Yep.
Poof!
And just like that,
Reality decided to show up to the party.
But my girl decided to "go along with the charade" long enough to snap a photo with her.
You know, just in case she might be the real deal...
Okay, Kennedy, I'll give you the wings... ;)
