Someday...

I told Ben the other day that I felt bad for Ty, as he gets to "sit" through all the activities the girls have.  He "gets" to sit through Daisy troop meetings and piano lessons, even their homework, reading times and piano practicing (which is this close to a lesson due to the fact that these "lucky" girls actually get to live w/ their teacher ;), gymnastics, indoor soccer games and he even gets to watch the girls run off to their weekly kids' bible group at the church.

Ben told me not to worry as it just isn't his time yet, and that it will all change soon enough.  I guess it just doesn't feel like that much of a consolation to tell Tito, "Chin up Son, don't worry.  In just a couple of years you'll be doing all sorts of different sports and activities yourself."  Especially, as even 3 days seem like an eternity to the boy currently.

But he's been a trooper.  No complaining, or at least nothing that a little DS time or wii can't assuage.  And I've loved getting to know his nuances, watching him freeze in dance poses as he skips down a sidewalk, listen to him explain why I actually lost at War even though my card was higher, try to negotiate property exchanges in Monopoly or muscle down a spoonful of his famous "most disgusting frozen yogurt/topping combination possible" concoction.

But today, he got to sit again as we got the girls checked into their cheerleading clinic... to return 1 1/2 hours later to watch them perform before taking in a few of the competing cheerleading squads.  He was ecstatic. ;)

First, I have to say the cheer clinic was adorable.  And if Kennedy hadn't gotten a kink in her neck during her sleepover last night, she would have loved every second of it.  But as is typical of many events I'm finding, the entertainment level does not does not necessarily equal photo opportunity. :)

The best pics I could get all day.
Kennedy looks like the neck's not too bad,
and Gwen just looks "old" to me.
I oddly see a teenager in this photo for some reason. ;)

However, Gwen's visions of being a mini version of some Disney tween show, quickly disintegrated as soon as she found out they were not going to cheer for a sport of any sort (specifically basketball ;).

Sorry girl, no opening scene to HSM 3 today. ;)

But this morning did turn into another cool "Hang with Ty" day,
as we decided to visit with Chuck during our 90 min window.

We like to call this pic,
"Happiness". ;)

A few of the faces of Ty.
It looks like waiting hasn't been all that tough on him.
Well, maybe a bit. ;)

But then, I look at this pic and remember how little he still is.  That he's the kid that told his teacher that he wants to be the following 5 things when he grows up.

A. A baseball player
B. Someone who teaches kids how to be nice to other kids and make friends (otherwise known as a MOM ;).
C. A tennis player.
D. Someone who teaches kids how to jumprope (note to self: teach Ty how to jumprope).
E. The best...wii...player...EVER (surprise, surprise).

**And even though it looks like we may be supporting this kid for years to come, we're just thankful he wasn't the kid in the class who wanted to be a horse when he grew up. ;)
I've also learned that he's a whole lotta laughs bottled up in that little body.
But I'm pretty sure that has to do with the y chromosome that he was passed down.

As I found this in the kids' bathroom the other day.

Here's a closer look, just in case you didn't catch it the first time.

Let's just say, it wasn't added by Ty or any female Garate.
But of course, Ty thought it was hi-la-rious.

Ty, truly, your time will come soon enough.
But until then, I'm going to enjoy every second I can get with you. :)
